OnePlus has officially confirmed the launch of its new performance-centric smartphone lineup, the OnePlus Turbo 6 and OnePlus Turbo 6V, in China on January 8, 2026, at 7:00 PM local time. Marketed as a “performance and battery supernova,” the Turbo series is already generating strong buzz, especially due to its record-breaking battery capacity. Globally, these devices are expected to arrive later as the OnePlus Nord 6 and Nord CE 6, including in India.

Massive 9,000mAh “Super Battery” Takes Center Stage

The biggest highlight of the OnePlus Turbo 6 series is its 9,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, the largest ever seen in a OnePlus smartphone. According to official teasers, the Turbo 6 can deliver over 10 hours of ultra-high-intensity usage and up to two days of moderate use on a single charge. Both models support 80W fast wired charging, while the Turbo 6 goes a step further with 27W wired reverse charging, effectively turning the phone into a power bank for other devices.

Performance-Focused Hardware

The OnePlus Turbo 6 is powered by the flagship-grade Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage, making it ideal for gaming and heavy multitasking. Meanwhile, the Turbo 6V runs on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, offering strong mid-range performance with up to 12GB RAM.

On the display front, both devices feature large flat OLED panels with 1.5K resolution. The Turbo 6 boasts a 165Hz refresh rate, while the Turbo 6V offers a still-smooth 144Hz, ensuring fluid scrolling and gaming.

Cameras, Software, and Durability

Camera hardware remains consistent across both models, featuring a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 32MP front camera. While photography may not be the main focus, the setup should deliver reliable everyday performance.

Both phones run ColorOS 16 based on Android 16 and come with impressive durability ratings. The Turbo 6 supports IP68, IP69, and IP69K, while the Turbo 6V carries IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance.

Design, Colors, and Pricing

Inspired by the flagship OnePlus 15 series, the Turbo lineup features a flat-frame design and a square camera module, with plastic frames used to keep prices competitive. Color options include Chasing Light Silver with holographic engraving for the Turbo 6, and bold shades like Fearless Blue for the Turbo 6V.

In China, the OnePlus Turbo 6 is expected to start below CNY 2,000, while the Turbo 6V may launch under CNY 1,799. In India, the rebranded Nord 6 series is likely to be priced around ₹35,000.

With its unmatched battery size, flagship-grade performance, and aggressive pricing, the OnePlus Turbo 6 series could redefine the budget-performance smartphone segment in 2026.
