At CES 2026, Amazon announced one of its biggest upgrades yet to the Fire TV ecosystem, introducing a completely redesigned interface alongside its first-ever lifestyle television, the Amazon Ember Artline. The move signals Amazon’s ambition to transform Fire TV from a simple streaming platform into a centerpiece of modern home entertainment and decor, while also addressing long-standing complaints about slow and cluttered TV interfaces.

Amazon Ember Artline: A Lifestyle TV Built for Home Decor

The headline announcement is the Amazon Ember Artline, a lifestyle-focused television positioned as a direct rival to Samsung’s popular The Frame. Designed to blend seamlessly into living spaces, the Ember Artline looks like a piece of wall art when not in use.

The TV features a slim 1.5-inch profile and a matte, glare-reducing display that mimics the texture of real canvas, making digital artwork appear more natural. Customization is a major focus, with 10 magnetic frame options including Walnut, Teak, Pale Gold, and Midnight Blue allowing users to match the TV to their interior design.

Powered by Amazon’s Omnisense motion-sensing technology, the Ember Artline automatically switches to art mode when someone enters the room and powers down when the room is empty, helping conserve energy. With Alexa+ AI art recommendations, users can upload photos of their room and receive artwork suggestions from a library of over 2,000 free art pieces curated to complement their decor.

On the technical side, the Ember Artline doesn’t compromise, offering a 4K QLED panel with Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and Wi-Fi 6 support.

Fire TV Gets a Faster, Cleaner Interface

Alongside the new TV, Amazon revealed a fully redesigned Fire TV interface aimed at improving speed and usability. The company says the underlying code has been rebuilt, delivering a 20–30% performance boost.

One of the most requested upgrades is the expanded app dock, allowing users to pin up to 20 apps on the home screen, up from just six. Visually, the UI now features rounded corners, cleaner gradients, and modern typography, bringing it closer to the polished look of Google TV.

New smart shortcuts further enhance navigation. A long-press of the Home button opens a Control Center for smart home devices, while the Menu button offers quick access to games and the Ambient Experience. Alexa+ integration enables conversational searches like “find a movie that feels like a summer vacation” or skipping directly to specific scenes.

Availability and Pricing

The Amazon Ember Artline will launch in 55-inch and 65-inch sizes, starting at $899 (£949) notably cheaper than Samsung’s The Frame. The redesigned Fire TV interface begins rolling out in February 2026 in the U.S., with wider availability in spring.

With these updates, Amazon is clearly redefining what Fire TV can be: faster, smarter, and finally stylish enough to blend into modern homes.
