Amazon has officially joined the exclusive $3 trillion market capitalization club after a strong stock rally fueled by impressive AI and cloud computing growth. The company’s shares reached a record high following better-than-expected earnings, showing that its massive investments in artificial intelligence are beginning to deliver strong results.

Amazon’s stock rose 5.5% to $286.20 on Monday, pushing its market value above $3 trillion for the first time. The shares have now gained more than 23% in 2026, making Amazon one of the best-performing technology companies this year.

The biggest reason behind the rally was the strong performance of Amazon Web Services (AWS), the company’s cloud computing division. AWS reported its fastest growth in more than four years as businesses increased spending on AI-powered cloud services. Amazon also raised its annual capital spending forecast, showing confidence in future demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure.

Investors welcomed the results, especially as some other major technology companies have faced criticism for heavy AI spending that has reduced free cash flow. Alongside Microsoft, Amazon is viewed as one of the few companies successfully turning large AI investments into stronger financial performance.

The company continues to expand its AI strategy through major investments. Earlier this year, Amazon announced plans to invest up to $50 billion in OpenAI and also revealed a new investment in AI startup Anthropic. These partnerships are expected to strengthen Amazon’s position in the rapidly growing AI market.

Founded by Jeff Bezos in 1994, Amazon crossed the $2 trillion valuation in June 2024 and has now added another trillion dollars in just over two years.

Amazon now joins Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet, and Nvidia in the exclusive $3 trillion market value club. Nvidia remains the world’s most valuable company with a market capitalization approaching $5 trillion, highlighting the continued dominance of AI-driven technology companies in global markets.
