Anthropic’s $50B Fundraise Could Push Valuation Beyond $900 Billion Before IP
The current goal of Anthropic is to obtain a valuation of close to $900 billion. However, considering that numerous investors want to invest, the valuation can rise further than expected. Anthropic has not yet issued any comments regarding this matter.
Despite all the demand from various investors, some of the earliest investors, particularly those that invested before 2024, are staying away from this fundraising round. The reason is that an initial public offering (IPO) of the company is expected in the near future.
This might be the last private fundraising for Anthropic before it goes public. The funds raised will be mainly used to cover the enormous computing cost.
According to Anthropic, its annual revenue run rate exceeds $30 billion; however, some sources think it is closer to $40 billion.
Anthropic was worth $380 billion in February. If it attains a valuation of $900 billion, then its valuation will not only be doubled but will even surpass that of its primary competitor, OpenAI, whose recent valuation is $852 billion.
