Apple has briefly crossed the $5 trillion market capitalization mark, becoming only the second company in history to reach the milestone after Nvidia. The tech giant’s latest stock rally highlights strong demand for its products and growing investor confidence in its strategy.
Apple Market Cap Briefly Crosses $5 Trillion
Apple shares reached a session high of $342.89, pushing the company’s market value to around $5.036 trillion. The stock later eased, leaving Apple with a market capitalization of about $4.96 trillion.
The milestone comes after Apple recently overtook Nvidia as the world’s most valuable company. Nvidia had held the top position since June 2025 and was the first company to break through the $5 trillion valuation.
Apple’s stock has gained around 24% this year, outperforming the other members of the “Magnificent 7” group of major U.S. technology companies.
Apple Takes a Different Approach to AI
One interesting part of Apple’s recent performance is its decision not to follow the massive AI infrastructure spending seen across Big Tech.
Apple has faced challenges developing its own AI models and has instead partnered with Google’s technology for some new AI-powered services, including its revamped Siri. This approach could help Apple avoid some of the huge costs associated with building and operating large AI data centers.
Rather than competing directly in the AI spending race, Apple appears focused on improving the customer experience through its devices and services.
iPhone Demand Remains Strong
Apple’s decision to keep iPhone prices unchanged during its latest product price increases has also helped demand. While MacBooks and iPads became more expensive, the iPhone avoided an immediate price increase.
Analysts believe some customers may have bought iPhones ahead of possible price increases later this year.
Apple has also introduced a new device leasing program in the U.S. through Klarna. Monthly payments start at $17.99 for an iPhone, $11.99 for an Apple Watch or iPad, and $24.99 for a Mac.
Apple Earnings Report Could Be Next Catalyst
Apple is expected to release its third-quarter earnings after the market closes on Thursday. Analysts are looking for quarterly revenue growth of more than 15% compared with the same period last year.
If Apple delivers strong earnings and maintains solid iPhone demand, the company could strengthen its position among the world’s most valuable technology companies.
For now, Apple’s brief $5 trillion market cap milestone shows that investors remain confident in the company, even as the wider technology industry continues to pour billions into artificial intelligence.
