Apple is preparing for its major September 9 event, where the company is expected to reveal a new range of products. The event, carrying the tagline “Surprise and shine,” could be one of Apple’s biggest launches in years.
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to be the main highlights. Both models could keep a familiar design while receiving important internal upgrades. Rumours suggest they may use Apple’s new A20 Pro chip, a smaller Dynamic Island and the company’s C2 modem. Apple could also introduce new colours, including a Dark Cherry option.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max may receive additional camera and battery improvements. Reports suggest it could be slightly thicker to offer a larger battery. A variable-aperture main camera may also be exclusive to the Pro Max, giving users greater control over light and depth of field.
Apple’s First Foldable iPhone
The biggest surprise could be Apple’s first foldable iPhone. The device is reportedly designed with a book-style folding display. It could feature a 5.5-inch outer OLED screen that opens into a larger 7.8-inch display.
The foldable iPhone is expected to focus heavily on a thin design and could measure around 4.5mm when unfolded. Apple may use Touch ID instead of Face ID, while the phone could feature two rear cameras.
The device is widely rumoured to be called the iPhone Ultra, with a possible starting price of around $2,000 or more.
New Apple Watch and AirPods
Apple could also launch the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4. Expected upgrades include faster performance and improved health and fitness features.
The AirPods 5 could also debut, potentially arriving in versions with and without active noise cancellation.
Interestingly, the standard iPhone 18 may not launch in September. Apple could move its release to spring 2027 alongside the iPhone 18e and second-generation iPhone Air.
While none of these products have been officially confirmed, Apple’s September 9 event could mark a major new chapter for the company.
