Apple may introduce a paid option for users who want more advanced Siri features. Speaking during his last earnings call as Apple CEO, Tim Cook said the company is exploring ways to offer extra Siri access through its iCloud+ subscription service.

Cook said that while many people may use the standard version, some users will likely want higher usage. Apple is therefore looking at adding premium options to iCloud+, although the final plan has not yet been confirmed.

This type of subscription model is already common in the technology industry. Users can access basic features for free and pay only if they need more services.

Apple has already released the updated Siri to developers and testers through the iOS 27 beta. A wider public release is expected later this year.

The company is introducing the new Siri after facing delays in its development. During this period, Apple also added Google’s Gemini technology to support some Siri features.

The delay led to legal challenges as well. Apple earlier agreed to a $250 million settlement over claims related to the promotion of the iPhone 16’s advanced features.

At the same time, Apple is dealing with rising production costs. Higher memory prices across the electronics industry have made devices more expensive to manufacture. While Apple recently increased the prices of some Mac and iPad models, the current iPhone lineup has not received a price increase.
